Sean Parys earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg. He then went on to Harvard Law School where he earned his Juris Doctorate. He went to law school knowing he wanted to be a trial attorney.

In law school, he was an editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, and a member of the Prison Legal Assistance Project. He spent his summers working as a law clerk at the Orleans Public Defenders in New Orleans, and the Bronx Defenders in the Bronx, New York.

 

Career

 

After graduating, Sean moved to Florida to work as a public defender. While at the Palm Beach Public Defender’s Office, he represented indigent defendants charged with crimes ranging from misdemeanors to felonies punishable by life in prison.

He tried over 20 jury and bench trials during that time, and argued numerous motions ranging from motions to suppress to motions to dismiss for lawful use of deadly force under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. 

 

Background

 

Sean grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada where he spent holidays on the family farm. He still enjoys cheering on his hometown teams, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets.
