Career

Joshua Novak has considerable experience in matters involving catastrophic injury, professional malpractice, product liability, negligent security, premises liability, construction liability, securities laws, and civil rights violations.

Prior to joining Kelley | Uustal Trial Attorneys, Joshua worked as a lead plaintiff’s attorney in Miami, representing clients injured by negligence and the wrongdoing of others. Notably, Joshua secured a settlement of $3.1 million dollars on behalf of a condominium owner who was forced to abandon his home after the homeowner’s association failed to maintain and repair leaks that made the unit uninhabitable.

He has also served as an Assistant State Attorney. Fighting for victim’s rights, Joshua secured convictions for the most severe types of violent crime, including attempted murder, armed robbery, aggravated battery, armed kidnapping, burglary with assault or battery, and armed drug trafficking. Furthermore, Joshua served as a member of the Police Accountability and Integrity Team, in which he investigated, charged, and tried cases involving police brutality and misconduct.

Background

Born in Philadelphia, Joshua earned his Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University, where he studied history and secondary education. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he graduated cum laude in the Integrated Trial Advocacy Program. During law school, Joshua served as a law clerk for a boutique law firm that specialized in catastrophic injury and medical malpractice, where he helped secure a $1.2 million dollar trial verdict for a client that tripped on a dangerous sidewalk grate and shattered his elbow. Additionally, he gained invaluable litigation experience working as an intern at the New York County District Attorney’s Office, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, and the United States Attorneys’ Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Loving and caring. I really felt it.
