Kelley | Uustal partners Todd R. Falzone and David M. Hammer, working alongside co-counsel, secured an $8.25 million settlement for a client who suffered severe injuries in a serious motorcycle crash.
Demonstrating Fault in a No-Contact Crash
The incident occurred when a semi-truck abruptly changed lanes, forcing our client (who was riding her motorcycle) off the road. Her bike flipped multiple times before hitting a tree. Although the truck never made physical contact with the motorcycle, it left devastating consequences. And without that contact, proving liability became especially difficult.
Our co-counsel brought the case to us, understanding its complexity and trusting in our team’s experience with severe auto injury cases involving commercial vehicles. These cases often require a working knowledge of federal trucking regulations, driver log records, and commercial insurance coverage – details that can significantly influence the outcome if not carefully addressed.
“Trial Ready” in a High-Stakes Auto-Injury Case
Our K|U partners and their team prepared the case as if it were going to trial, knowing that being fully ready often leads to stronger results – even when the case is resolved before reaching the courtroom. The $8.25 million settlement will provide our client with the resources necessary for ongoing care and future security.
