Editor’s Note: Our readers should join me in welcoming the newest Journal contributors, Robert W. (“Bob”) Kelley and Matthew (“Matt”) DellaBetta. I approached Bob about authoring our Civil Procedure column on a permanent basis because his depth and breadth of courtroom experience make him the perfect person to communicate to our readers the practical effects of the procedural rules that shape our real-life jury trials and the verdicts that result from them. Matt brings the perspective of a newer lawyer to the column and together they make a great team of co-authors.
