Kelley | Uustal Trial Attorneys is representing the family of Jazmin Alcala in a lawsuit alleging that Tesla’s defective vehicle caused the crash and subsequent fire that took the 19-year-old’s life in Miami.
Last Friday, the plaintiffs asked a Florida state court to impose case-ending sanctions against the automaker, alleging Tesla repeatedly refused to turn over discovery and records.
This week, a Special Magistrate backed severe sanctions against Tesla, recommending the jury be instructed that Tesla knew its testing had shown similar failures, and ordering the carmaker to comply with discovery requests.
This is the second time in this case that Tesla has been sanctioned by the court for the same type of discovery abuse.
