Greystar Class Action Lawsuit Filed Over Alleged Undisclosed Utility Billing Practices
Kelley | Uustal has filed a proposed consumer class action lawsuit against Greystar and River Landing Shops & Residences, alleging that tenants were charged recurring utility-related fees that were not disclosed or authorized in the property’s standard lease agreements.
The lawsuit seeks relief on behalf of a proposed class of River Landing tenants, alleging violations of the Florida Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA), breach of contract, and unjust enrichment.
According to the complaint, residents were required to pay recurring utility billing charges that were never disclosed in their lease agreements. The lawsuit seeks to determine whether these alleged landlord fees violated Florida law and the contractual rights of tenants.

“Tenants trust that their lease spells out what they owe, and should not later be forced to comply with hidden fees,” said Kelley | Uustal partner Cristina M. Pierson.
