Lawsuit Filed After Cemetery Buried Stranger in Family Gravesite

Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach is facing a lawsuit after mistakenly burying a stranger in a gravesite purchased by Susan and Stanton Gad Schwartz—the parents of actor Josh Gad, known for voicing Olaf in Frozen.

In 2011, the couple secured two plots in the all-Jewish cemetery, intending to rest beside Susan’s parents. However, Susan recently discovered that the cemetery had “double booked” the plot she chose next to her husband’s.

Kelley | Uustal partner Cristina Pierson filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Schwartzes, seeking more than $50,000 in damages. Despite requests, Eternal Light Memorial Gardens has refused to relocate the individual buried in the family’s space.

According to Pierson, cemetery staff failed to offer a solution that would allow Schwartz to be laid to rest beside her loved ones.
